AP with Procore is three jobs: entering the supplier invoices you receive as Direct Costs or commitment invoices, with a cost code and cost type on every line; verifying the pay apps and bills subcontractors enter themselves against the PDFs they attached; and paying. Tools differ in which of these jobs they document, so pick by the job that takes your AP team the most time.

Not a fit
When is Denize not the right fit?
You need commitments created
Denize prepares invoices against the purchase orders and subcontracts you already have. It doesn’t create commitments or POs.
You want PM approval inside Denize
For Procore invoices, approvals stay in your Procore workflow. PM approval in Denize is part of the QuickBooks integration.
You need retainage checked on vendor pay apps
Retainage is not among Invoice Check’s published checks. Denize for Procore shows retainage when Procore returns it, for the invoices you enter.
Denize supports QuickBooks Online, Intuit Enterprise Suite and Procore only.

Does Procore have AP automation built in?

What’s the difference between a Direct Cost and a commitment invoice?
Direct Costs cover costs not tied to a purchase order or subcontract, as Expense, Invoice or Payroll entries. Each line takes a budget code, description, quantity, unit and unit cost. Procore Support, as of October 2026 Commitment invoices bill against a purchase order or subcontract and its Schedule of Values.
Can we check the pay apps subs enter in Procore without re-keying them?
That is what Invoice Check is for. It compares each vendor-entered pay app or bill with the PDF the vendor attached, before you approve it.
Does Denize pay subcontractors?
No. Neither Denize for Procore nor Invoice Check makes payments. They work before payment, and you keep paying subs the way you do today.
